VISIONS is an investigation of how memory, even if archival, is unstable and imaginary. In the age of synthetic images and contested facts, the work establishes a parallel between how a machine sees and reimagines and how we remember and invent.

The work draws on a year-long collaboration between Mammadov and London-based curator Farah Piriye Coene, who together distilled a curated dataset of public-domain artworks from across centuries of art history. Custom software analyzes each painting in real time, generating new visual states that must pass the system's stylistic test before they appear. Old masters dissolve into one another. Captions, code, and wireframe traces flicker at the edges as the machine narrates its own act of seeing.

In the mirrored geometry of the infinity room, that act is multiplied to no horizon — the viewer stands inside an AI's continuous, self-correcting recollection. VISIONS visualizes the drift of memory we all live with: the way a face, a painting, a place quietly reshape themselves each time we recall them.

VISIONS is a site-specific iteration created for Art Club's infinity room, building on Mammadov's ongoing series of the same name.
